Its been a while, but I’m finally back to blogging! I wanted to share a few photos with you from a recent series I call “Mirror, Mirror.” It has gotten some attention as the cover for June’s issue of w25 Magazine alongside its inclusion in Impostor Magazine. Being published is always rewarding, and it was an honor for something that started as a small shoot to become something larger. As a Chicago fashion photographer I work with some incredibly talented people; this time around my team consisted of Loni Hale working her magic on hair and makeup and Ashley Barlow as my stylist (both with Factor Modeling Management). The model herself is the beautiful Ayssa Nastic of Muse Model Management. I’ve worked with all of these people before aside from the new addition of my assistant Kaitlyn Hope, but this time we really struck something magically dark and beautiful.
My aesthetic inspiration for this shoot came from the recent film Snow White and the Huntsman’s evil Queen Ravenna played by Charlize Theron. I channeled her severe demeanor while incorporating my own edgy vision. Ayssa was perfect, firstly shes a fantastic model, and shes also a ton of fun to work with. She was enjoying getting into character and boldly interacted with her accessories and surroundings.
I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed making them, and look for more posts coming soon!
