Its been a while, but I’m finally back to blogging! I wanted to share a few photos with you from a recent series I call “Mirror, Mirror.” It has gotten some attention as the cover for June’s issue of w25 Magazine <\/a>alongside its inclusion in Impostor Magazine<\/a>. Being published is always rewarding, and it was an honor for something that started as a small shoot to become something larger. As a Chicago fashion photographer I work with some incredibly talented people; this time around my team consisted of Loni Hale<\/a> working her magic on hair and makeup and Ashley Barlow<\/a> as my stylist (both with Factor Modeling Management<\/a>). The model herself is the beautiful Ayssa Nastic<\/a> of Muse Model Management<\/a>. I’ve worked with all of these people before aside from the new addition of my assistant Kaitlyn Hope, but this time we really struck something magically dark and beautiful.<\/p>\n

My aesthetic inspiration for this shoot came from the recent film Snow White and the Huntsman’s evil Queen Ravenna played by Charlize Theron. I channeled her severe demeanor while incorporating my own edgy vision. Ayssa was perfect, firstly shes a fantastic model, and shes also a ton of fun to work with. She was enjoying getting into character and boldly interacted with her accessories and surroundings.<\/p>\n
